Artificial Intelligence: Is it helping us or spying on us?

Artificial intelligence is everywhere: it tells us what to eat, what to watch, what to buy… and sometimes even who to love (thanks, dating app algorithms, for suggesting my ex as my “ideal match”).

But is it really helping us?

Sure, AI makes life easier: it writes emails for us, summarizes books we’ll never read, and proofreads better than our high school English teacher.

It’s the perfect assistant: tireless, fast, and—most importantly—it doesn’t take vacations or demand Fridays off.

But let’s be honest: it helps… with the smug attitude of the class know-it-all who never misses a chance to show off.

You ask, “What’s the weather like tomorrow?” and it responds with a full forecast, humidity levels, and a fashion tip.

Thanks, I just needed to know if I should bring an umbrella!

Then there’s the privacy thing: AI knows us so well it’s kind of scary. Ever think about a trip to Iceland and suddenly get bombarded with flight deals, wool sweaters, and beginner Icelandic courses?

No, you’re not going crazy—AI is basically reading your mind. Almost.

So, in the end: is artificial intelligence helping us?

Yes. But it does it with that “I’m doing this for your own good” tone your mom used when she made you eat vegetables.

Bottom line: it’s useful, smart, and irreplaceable.

But if one day it starts judging our Netflix choices… maybe it’s time to turn off the Wi-Fi!
