The exhibition “Orizzonti | Rosso” PM23 has opened in Rome in the space of the Fondazione Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti in Piazza Mignanelli 23.

The exhibition explores the color red as a distinctive icon element of Valentino Garavani's aesthetics with an exhibition path that is divided into five thematic sections: Beauty, Identity, Emotional landscapes, Surface treatment and Dream horizons. Through these sections, red is investigated not only as a chromatic choice, but as a symbol of passion, power and refinement.

The exhibition features 50 iconic dresses created by Valentino between 1959 and 2008, alongside 30 works of art by internationally renowned artists, including Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, Lucio Fontana, Louise Bourgeois and Jean-Michel Basquiat: a “visual” dialogue between high fashion and contemporary art, highlighting how the color red has been interpreted and enhanced in different artistic disciplines.

PM23, an acronym for Piazza Mignanelli 23, was conceived as a cultural center dedicated to the promotion of beauty, art and creativity. In addition to the exhibitions, the space will host workshops, meetings and initiatives, all in support of young talents in the fields of fashion and art.

The opening of PM23 represents a further commitment by the Foundation to preserving and spreading the cultural legacy of Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti.

It was July 31, 1960 when the meeting that decided their future, both personal and professional, took place.

A union that lasted many decades and gave birth to an iconic brand in the world of luxury.

The brand was sold in 1998 and since 2012 the Maison has been part of the Kering luxury group

The exhibition, with free admission until June 10, will close on October 30, 2025.
